Josh Michaels is a true gem in the Independent Music Community. His music has a positive message. He writes from personal experience and his goal is to spread light and love and help those who are going through personal trials and struggles. He seeks to help those who listen to his music to be able to see the light of hope at the end of what can be a very dark tunnel.
He is a classically trained musician. However, he has also been influenced by musicians like The Rolling Stones, Elton John, and Billy Joel. He started on the musical path at the age of four. At the ages of ten he auditioned for the television show, America’s Most talented Kid, and took second place.
Josh grew up in the small town of Hewlett, NY on the South shore of Long Island. He feels his success is due to his universal message of love, hope and healing. He feels that there are so many musicians these days write from anger and negativity. Josh feels that the former divides people and he seeks to bring people together. He tries to write music that, “people can relate to their own personal experiences”.
At this time Josh is working with some pretty impressive musicians the likes of, Premik Russle Tubbs, Adam Klipple and Todd Isler. Tubbs plays the saxophone, writes songs and produces. Klipple plays keyboards and Isler plays drum. Together they have worked with the likes of Sting, Lady Gaga and Elton John.
Josh’s philosophy and his message to other musicians is to “Keep going and to never give up on your goals”. He feels if one writes in such a way as to benefit the lives of others and inspire them with a positive message they will have success and help their fans to live the kind of life that will bring them happiness and hope.
This 25 year old singer/songwriter has played all over the world. His music has been played on radio stations in the United States and All over Europe. However, his favorite place to plat is in his hometown called, The Bitter End, in New York City’s Greenwich Village, where many other famous artists have gotten their start. Josh, in the end, is a hometown boy who has not forgotten where he came from.
Josh Michaels is also deeply concerned about all the abuse humans inflict upon other humans and animals, which is why he focuses his message on love and healing. There is so much negativity going on in the world he feels spreading a positive message is a need incumbent on all people to meet. He supports the ASPCA and Cancer Research. In fact, a portion of the money from the sales of his new EP release goes to Cancer Research.
Josh Michael’s next concert appearance will be on January 17th, 2017 at, of course, The Bitter End. He will be accompanied by Premik Russle on sax, Adam Klipple will be playing piano Todd isler on drums and Nathan Peck will be playing bass. Readers! If you have the chance to see this guy you really need to. It will be an experience you will never forget.
